Yiyi Predicted to Appear in Gala

In the Wenzhou high-speed train accident, the last survivor,
2-year-old Xiang Weiyi, nicknamed “miracle girl", is recovering.
Unfortunately, her parents have been confirmed dead.
Yiyi’s story has touched many people.
However, many netizens now predict that on this year’s
CCTV “Spring Festival Gala”, Yiyi might be arranged
by the Chinese Communist authorities (CCP) to sing the
communist classic “Ode to the Motherland" on stage.

According to Reuters, one day after the train collision,
CCP’s Central Propaganda Department issued instructions
to the media to report the accident according to the theme of
“Boundless love conquering major disaster,”
and to not question or investigate the cause of the crash.

However, many media professionals still broke
the Propaganda Department’s ban to express true feelings.
When CCTV’s anchor Qin Fang was broadcasting Yiyi’s story,
she could not stop choking and shedding tears.
Guizhou TV’s host Wang Xin pounded his desk angrily
and blamed the railway ministry’s corruption.
Southern Metropolitan Daily’s editorial pointed out that,

after the accident, the CCP still remains arrogant and
it shouldn’t still keep the number of casualties a secret.

Economic Observer News has published the article titled
“Yiyi, When You Grow up" on its front page.
The article wrote, “Yiyi, when you grow up and
begin to understand this world,
we don’t know how to explain to you
what happened on July 23, 2011.
A never-arriving train took 40 lives, including your parents."

When you grow up, will we and the country be able to
frankly tell you our love and sadness, anger and doubts?"

Yiyi was found when the life detectors indicated
“no signs of life" when searching for survivors of the crash.
She soon became the focus of people’s attention.

Some netizens began to speculate that
on this year’s CCTV Spring Festival Gala,
Yiyi would be held by a celebrity and
sing a song to express her gratitude to the CCP.

Netizen named “Invincible Small Stool" published online
an article titled “Please don’t present Yiyi on CCTV’s show”.
He asked people to not give excessive attention to Yiyi,
to not let her get on the show,
and to let her forget her recent grief.

He said every CCTV Spring Festival follows the same format,
as they always present survivors of natural disasters on stage,
including survivors of the Sichuan earthquake in 2008.

Another netizen Zeng Ying also asked to not present Yiyi
on the Spring Festival Gala to “express gratitude.”

Netizen “Wise Girl" composed a song for Yiyi.

In the song, she angrily criticized that
Yiyi was almost abandoned after the train accident.

Her song “Chilling Miracle": Yiyi’s eyes were filled with fear.
People cleared the site and stopped the rescue.
I see people just want to avoid their responsibility,
and my life can only rely on a miracle.
I don’t know the vicious reason to bury the train body.
I only want to grasp the evil manipulator.
Who can tell me whether there is a miracle and I can live on?
A miracle smiles, but my heart is broken.

Column editor of “Invest in China" of Reuters
Chen Shu wrote on his Sina micro-blog,
“The train accident makes people question
China’s high-speed rail construction,
and makes people disappointed about
China’s administrative methods.

New York Times quoted a Chinese blogger saying

“China, stop your flying steps, wait for your people,
wait for your soul, and wait for your morals and conscience!
Do not get the train derailed, do not let the bridge collapse,
do not turn roads into traps, do not build dangerous houses.”
